easter weekend

We had such a wonderful Easter weekend I don't even know where to start! It was just a special weekend with my family that I will always cherish. Jay was off on Friday so we headed to Pullen park with a picnic lunch from Snoopy's Hotdogs (one of our favorite places ever!) Claire can eat an entire chicken salad sandwich by herself and they are pretty big! I love to watch her eat it! While we were there we fed the ducks, saw a giant turtle that the girls named Franklin of course, and rode the train and carousel (the fun small boats near the train are closed for water restrictions....sad) The girls took a long nap that afternoon, they were exhausted!

On Saturday we headed downtown to Memorial Auditorium with my parents for Go Dieogo Go Live....it was so awesome. Us adults were just as entertained as the girls. We had great seats where the girls could stand up and watch and they barely budged the entire time. They were super excited that Dora was in the show too! We got some great pictures of the girls enjoying their time, I love the one with their baby jaguar mask!...also check out Jay as Diego's dad...pretty cute!

Sunday was Easter....a wonderful day to celebrate our Lord and what He did for us on the cross. Jay and I love teaching the girls bible stories and they have started asking questions about why Jesus died on the cross. It is amazing to be able to tell them that mommy and daddy love them more than anything and that God loves them even more! We had a great service at church and then went to my parents house for a yummy easter lunch. Mom made a great meal as always and after we ate we had fun easter egg hunt. Mom had it all planned out....Ava was to find all the blue and yellow eggs and Claire looked for all the green and pink eggs. Inside the eggs were sentences that the girls had to read to me and Jay. They all started with "I love to play with...." Then there was a picture at the end of people they love...mommy, daddy, Ellie.....It was such a cute idea! After they read them mom and dad brought in their Easter baskets which were packed full of goodies including a new bathing suit, a barbie and Dora sunglasses! After naptime we dyed eggs for the first time with the girls. They thought it was so awesome and enjoyed coloring with crayon on them first and then dying them all the fun colors. They even sampled a hard boiled egg and loved it! I had no idea! It really was such a great weekend spent with the people that I love most!
