doggie playdate

On Monday we had a teacher workday, so we went to visit my friend Maris. The girls love going to her house because not only do they get to see her, but they get to see her little girl Tyler and play with her dogs. Claire and Ava are basically obsessed with her dogs...as in tears from Claire when we had to leave! Maris had two really fun surprises for the girls this visit. She got out all of her old Jem dolls and accessories for the girls to play with. She had TONS of dolls: Jem, the Hollograms and the Misfits too! They had a blast playing with them and putting together the stage that her mom had saved too! She also brought out all of her old Babysitter's Club books for the girls to bring home and borrow! I remember loving these books, but could not find my copies and had not been able to find them at the library either. Of course the highlight of the day was playing with the dogs. Claire and Nala cuddled on the couch together for at least 30 minutes while Ava played with Zelda and Riggins who is 140 pounds...yes 140 pounds! He is a Great Dane and will be about 180 when he is filled out! He is the sweetest dog, just very strong and huge! These sweet dogs are definitely filling the doggie void until we get our own pup next fall. The girls are already asking if our dog will be friends with Nala, Riggins and Zelda! I am sure she will!
