sweet 1st graders

The girls just started their second full week of school, so I thought I better go ahead and blog about their first day! Better late than never. They looked so cute and so grown up!! They are LOVING first grade!! It is interesting to hear them say that it is very different from Kindergarten. Their teachers are more strict and more is expected of them. It has been a transition for sure, but it is a good transition. We have been able to talk about how every grade is different and the older they get more will be expected of them. They both love their teachers which helps a lot!!! I was a little worried when we first looked at the class lists and saw Claire's two best friends were going to be in Ava's class, but she has been fine. Claire has her sweet friend Kayla in her class and three other girls that will be in her Y Princess tribe. These first few days of school have been so busy for them and for me. Many people told me being the PTA president is a full time job and they were not kidding! I am so grateful to be sharing the responsibilities with my co-president Aimee. We really are having the best time so far, even though it is a lot of work. It is a good thing that our household loves North Ridge Elementary School!!!
