they did it!!!

The girls enjoyed their first day at Kindergarten so much! We all woke up early in anticipation of the big day, which is uncommon for us girls! We took lots of pictures and while we were on the front porch Harry and Susu drove up, they just could not stay away!!! We were happy to see them and they walked part of the way to school with us and the other moms and kids from the street. I think that really helped the girls not be sad or anxious. They have been looking forward to walking to school with their friends for a year now! When we got into the Kindergarten building Claire looked right at us and said, "You can go now"! I think she did the same thing the first day of her 3 year old preschool!! She also looked at me once I checked her into her classroom and said, "Are you crying yet?" She was so independent this morning! The girls were actually in the same room today for their assessment, which I was not expecting. They walked right in together, but chose not to sit beside each other, just at the same table. I only shed a few tears on the way out and got a quick hug from Jay. He then treated me to Starbucks, which of course helped me feel better. I could not wait to hear about their day when I picked them up this afternoon. I was surprised how much they told me....I was expecting them to say "it was good", but I actually got lots of details! I am so proud of my girls and can not believe I have two kindergarten students!
