state fair fun

Where can you start the day watching a poodle show and end it with a Third Day concert? The NC State Fair of course! Our family looks forward to the fair all year long and we were so excited to go last Friday. The weather was a little cold, but hey it is October! As soon as us girls were done with school we picked up daddy and met my parents at the fair. We started our afternoon like I said at the poodle show. We watched this show last year and the girls were dying to see it again. As a parent it is 20 minutes of torture...no offense to the lady leading it. I even think this and I am a huge poodle girl. I am counting down the days to get my own sweet little poodle! The girls love it though. We were actually the first people there so they got to pet the dogs and of course get their picture with them. I took so many pictures this year I don't know what I am going to do when we go to Disney World next month...this is after all just the state fair!!! Next it was on to do some rides. The girls really loved riding rides this year and even rode the caterpillar roller coaster all by themselves....I could not believe it! This is a huge step up from the dragon roller coaster for kids....they did great even though Ava did have a really scared face most of the ride. They also enjoyed the swings with me and Jay, the teacups with their daddy, and Claire had a date with granddaddy on the carousel. We then walked around and saw some animals, held the chicks and ate some really yummy food....Ava and Susu had their annual candy apple picture and Claire had her favorite....cotton candy. My favorite this year was the colossal onion....in other words a blooming onion. It was delicious. Jay's favorite was the cheesecake. It is a really big piece of frozen Cheesecake Factory cheesecake that they put on a stick and dip in chocolate...does it get any better? Mom and dad left with the girls right before dinner and Jay and I stayed for the Third Day concert which was AWESOME! (more on that in a later post)
It was another great year at the fair!
