all about daddy

We celebrated Father's Day on Saturday....and Jay did not know it until he woke up and we all shouted "Happy pretend Father's Day!" We made him a yummy breakfast complete with bacon, his favorite. Then he got his cards and his present....a quesadilla maker. This is literally one of the only things in 7 years of marriage that I have heard Jason say he wanted. He saw one a few months ago and I immediately stored it in my memory as a perfect Father's Day gift. We also gave him a bag with quesadillas, cheese, and sour cream so he would be ready to go. He proudly took it to work with him today ( I did not get a picture of him with it, so sad). On Saturday night we celebrated Father's Day with Jay's parents at Applebees. We then did some family shopping all together at Target and left with some strawberry ice cream that we enjoyed at home. On Sunday we had Father's Day lunch at McDonald's....the same place that we ate for Valentine's Day....I hope I am not sensing a new holiday tradition. Last night we had deli sandwiches, chips and key lime pie with my parents at their house. We watched the US Open on one TV and the Nascar race on another one....perfect! My mom had a prepared stack of pictures for me and my dad to look through together. They were pictures of me and him and my brother from our childhood. We had to say where we were in each picture. It was such a trip down memory lane and so much fun to look at how much we have changed. The girls could not believe that it was me in some of the pictures! I am so thankful for Jay and what an incredible dad that he is. I am also so thankful for my dad and for Rich!!! I feel truly blessed to have all three of them in my life!
