ava date

Last night Jay and I had a date night with Ava while Claire played with my parents at their house. When we started talking with the girls last week about our date night this week they both wanted the first date of course! We decided to teach them the "pull a name out of a hat" game and that it was the only fair way to decide who gets to go first. Well, it was a horrible idea! Jay drew Ava's name out and poor Claire with her tender heart was so upset! She cried and cried....my mom later joked that we should have put Claire's name in twice! I think that would have been a good idea actually, Ava is so tough she would have been fine going second! Our date with Ava started with fine dining at Chic fil A, her choice of course! She got to eat, play on the playground and make a craft because it was kids night! Then we walked over to Baskin Robins and had ice cream. We ended our date with a walk through at Great Outdoor Provision Company...both Claire and Ava love going there! She tried on some crocs and found a tent and some walking sticks that she wanted to buy. We told her we were just looking. It was such a fun night, I just love getting to have that special time with our girls individually because it is so rare in our house! We can't wait to go out with Claire next week!
