fun week

We have had such a fun week with a movie, a cookout and three pool days in a row! On Tuesday we went to the movies for the first time this summer and saw a Veggie Tales movie. The girls did really well and seemed to enjoy it. They also got to eat popcorn and see their friends Nate, Emily and Kate. On Thursday we got to take Nate with us to the pool. All three of them had a blast playing and watching kids come down the slide. Nate kept laughing and saying "come on down". Thursday ended on a sad note with Claire stepping on a yellow jackets nest in the front yard and getting stung four times. She was very brave and not react negatively to the stings. Jay found the nest and that night when it got dark went and took care of it. He was definitely "The Exterminator". He was cracking me up with his outfit so I had to get a picture. He had his jeans tucked into his boots and them laced up tightly, he had gloves and safety goggles on...he was very prepared in case the bees started to fly out at him. He had his Raid spray in one hand and gasoline in the other. He dug it up the next morning and said it was huge. I am so thankful that Claire was ok, it could have been a lot worse! Friday we got to play with Jeff, Lynn and Vera at their pool. It was so nice and the girls loved it. They even got to wear life jackets and go in the deep end. They loved having Jeff throw them through the air! Today we went back to mom and dad's pool just the four of us. We had a great time as a family and Jay got to see firsthand Claire and Ava's belly flops! They just love to swim and are under the water the whole time we are there! Tonight we had a cookout with Jay's parents. It was so yummy including the fresh corn from Rich's garden that he brought. Claire had 3 ears of corn!!! It was such fun week and I am sure next week will be as well. The three Joyner girls are headed to the beach tomorrow with my mom. Then we will come back mid week and spend time with Jay's brother and his family who will be here from Florida! The girls can not wait to spend time with their cousins Caelie and Zayden! It will really special because they will get to play with all four of their cousins in one week!
