beach trip

Last week we took our first trip of the season to Carolina Beach and it was the best trip we have taken there! It is so neat to see how much fun and easier it gets every time we go because the girls are getting older and more independent....I guess when I really think about it, it's a little sad because they are growing up so fast! I am loving every minute (not including melt downs and whining) of being a mom. I just love my girls so much!!! Another fun part of the weekend was that it was my birthday! I turned 31 this year and had the best day with my family. I even got to wake up on Saturday with my mom still at the condo which was really special to me. She told me all about my birthday 31 years ago...how sweet! The coolest thing was that on my birthday Carolina Beach was having a big celebration down at the boardwalk. The girls got to see a parade (with real "princesses"), get their faces painted, jump in the bouncy house and slide, and dance to live music. The music was the highlight of my entire day. After a yummy birthday dinner at my favorite place to eat there and ice cream at my other favorite spot we walked down to the pavilion and listened to a local band. We stayed about an hour and the whole time the girls were standing at the stage dancing! They were the hit of the party! They danced with some other children and even some adults and had some really awesome moves!!! To end the day of festivities CB had fireworks and we let the girls stay up until 9:00 and watch them. They had never seen fireworks so I didn't know what they would think. We watched them from our condo so we were a little ways away and Claire didn't understand why we couldn't be close to them like Mary Poppins! The cutest thing was that the girls thought the fireworks were just for me because it was my birthday!! It was such a special day!

We also got to spend time with Court, Ellie and Baylor and got to see Clay too! The girls are just in love with Ellie and Baylor. When they left the condo that day Ava said "Ellie is my best friend"! We got to play on the beach, eat lots of ice cream and visit the aquarium. It was such a great trip and we get to do it all over again in three weeks! We are going down for Ellie and Baylor's birthday party. Can't wait.....
