doughnut run

Last night we did something so fun as a family....a doughnut run! We did the run with our neighbors who we all just love! Melissa and I teach preschool together and we got the idea from our preschool director. She used to do doughnut runs with her boys when they were younger. She explained all about it and we put it into practice last night. We laid the girls down for bed a little early last night...7:00. We let them be in their room for about 30 minutes (on Friday nights they get to sleep together!) Then at 7:30 Jay and I ran in yelling doughnut run! We basically scared them to death, they had no idea what we were talking about! We said to hurry and get shorts on and we all piled in the Halls car and took off for Krispy Kreme downtown. The kids were SO EXCITED! We put a 1 doughnut limit on the kids since it was bedtime, but they did not seem to mind. They all got hats and loved watching the doughnuts being made. It was such a fun memory that we hope to do several times during the year! We ended our fun night with a sing along on the way home complete with The Wheels on the Bus!!!
